Bundle Up, Dallas: On New Year's Eve It's Out With the Old and in With the Arctic Cold

You think it's chilly now? By the time we roll into New Year's Eve, the low 40s we're enduring in North Texas on Tuesday might seem like a fond memory. The National Weather Service predicts the temperature in Dallas will plunge to the low 20s by Sunday night.The New Year's Day forecast calls for a high near 31.It's too soon to say whether the cold front will bring any rain or snow as we usher in 2018, said Juan Hernandez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.Regardless, you'll have to really bundle up if you'll be out and about for New Year's Eve festivities. We're no style experts, but there are instructions floating around on how to turn an IKEA rug into a Game of Thrones-style cape.)As for the rest of the week, here's what you can expect:Fog and drizzle are moving across the Dallas area on Tuesday afternoon, but the drizzle should be gone by the time temperatures dip to the low 30s overnight and into Wednesday morning, Hernandez said.
