Brace Yourself for Flooding, Possible Severe Weather in Dallas-Fort Worth

Severe thunderstorms, which have prompted flash-flood watches for much of North Texas, are making their way into Dallas-Fort Worth.There isn't any lightning accompanying the storms right now, said KXAS-TV (NBC5) meteorologist Grant Johnson, but people should be aware of possible flooding on roadways.Strong winds from early morning storms caused power outages and damage to homes in Haslet. Fences were blown down and a trampoline that took flight ended up wrapped around a power line. According to Oncor, there were about 1,600 customers without power, many of them (almost 700) in Dallas County. Tarrant County came in second with about 250 outages reported.  Continue reading...
