Boyfriend in McKinney Murder-for-hire Scheme Faces Life in Prison Next Week

Stephen Brockway didn’t fire the gun that killed Richard Moore in February 2015.But prosecutors want a jury to send Brockway, 35, to prison for life next week, saying he paid the man who did. It was a murder-for-hire plot, they say, cooked up by Brockway and his girlfriend.Moore, 66, was married to Chansamorn Pokai, 37, who allegedly had an affair with Brockway. Prosecutors say Brockway and Pokai hired Ronald Rosser to kill Moore in his McKinney home.Rosser was convicted earlier this year of shooting Moore multiple times with a .22 caliber rifle as he got out of the shower.The trio was indicted on capital murder charges in April 2015.In the Collin County Jail while awaiting trial, Rosser, 55, tried to pass a note to Brockway. Instead, guards found the note and gave it to prosecutors.“Are you okay?" the note read. "I was just checking in on you. I have kept my mouth shut they have nothing on us."Rosser was found guilty in March; he has appealed the conviction. Pokai’s trial is scheduled to start in late July.  Continue reading...
