Body Found Near Galveston Thought to Be Mother Who Was Swept Away After Pulling Son From Water

Authorities have found a body matching the description of a 33-year-old Texas mother who disappeared Monday near Galveston after rescuing her son from the waves.Brandy Mosley went missing about 1:30 p.m. Monday near Crystal Beach after swimming out to help her 4-year-old, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Mosely was watching her son from the shore when she saw him get knocked over by a wave and lose his footing, the Galveston County sheriff's office told KSAT-TV. She went in, grabbed him and handed him to another adult, but when they turned around the Palestine woman was gone."We're not sure if it was an undercurrent or riptide that grabbed hold of her or if she was knocked down by another wave," Maj. Douglas Hudson with the sheriff's office told "We don't have a witness, all we know is she went under and never resurfaced."On Tuesday, a passerby found a body on the shore about three miles from where Mosley disappeared.
