Bitter Cold on the Way

Our cold weather that we've had the last few days is about to get colder. A cold front will move through North Texas on Saturday with temperatures gradually falling into and through the 30s. Some drizzle is possible.As temperatures fall below freezing Saturday night, patchy freezing drizzle is possible Saturday night into midday Sunday. This could lead to some slick spots on area roads. Temperature will fall into the 20s on Sunday with wind chill temperatures on new Year's Eve in the teens and 20s. The below average temperatures will last through all of next week. TONIGHT: Patchy drizzle and fog, otherwise cloudy. Low: 42. Wind: S/SE 5 mph. SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with temperatures falling to around 38 by 5pm with a 20% chance of drizzle. Wind: SE 10 mph shifitng to the N. SUNDAY: Cloudy, breezy, and much colder. Temperatures will fall to around 28 by 3pm. Areas of freezing drizzle before noon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Wind: N 10-20 mph. MONDAY (New Year's Day): Very cold with a mix of clouds & sun to start 2018. Low: 28. High: 28. Wind: NE 10-15 mph. TUESDAY: Sunny and cold. Low: 18. High: 32. Wind: Light and variable. WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and becoming breezy in the afternoon. Low: 22. High: 41. Wind: SE 10 mph shifting to N 15-20 mph in the afternoon. THURSDAY: Partly cloudy and cold. Low: 24. High: 39. Wind: NW 5-10 mph. FRIDAY: Partly cloudy and cold. Low: 26. High: 44. Wind: SE 10 mph. SATURDAY: Partly cloudy and chilly. Low: 28. High: 47. Wind: SE 10 mph.
