Balch Springs Father of 1-week-old Son Fatally Shot by Suspects Allegedly Trying to Steal His Hummer

A Balch Springs man was died late Monday after he was fatally shot by a pair of alleged car burglars while responding to his car alarm.Robert Eames, 30, walked to the parking lot of the Autumn Run apartment complex in the 3200 block of Balch Springs Road around 11:15 p.m., according to KDFW-TV (Channel 4).He was reportedly confronted by two men in the parking lot and was shot multiple times as he tried to go back into his apartment.He died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.Eames was the father of a 1-week-old son, according to Channel 4."He treated everybody with respect," said Eames' fiancé, Stephanie Ordonez. "He loved everybody. He loved his family, he was so excited to be a good father. He loves that baby more than anything."The suspects in the slaying are still at large. Police are currently interviewing witnesses and examining cell phone videos in an effort to identify and track down the suspects responsible for Eames' death."Right now we do have good leads," Balch Springs police Officer Pedro Gonzalez told Channel 4. "We're looking at video. We're looking at suspect information.
