Austin Woman Who Died After Competing on ‘Jeopardy' Wins More Than $100,000 for Charity

Cindy Stowell was able to realize a lifelong dream by appearing on Jeopardy this year, and the 41-year-old from Austin won more than $100,000 in a seven-game run that ended with her defeat on an episode that aired Wednesday.What her competitors didn't know at the time was that Stowell was suffering from Stage 4 colon cancer while she was competing. She died Dec. 5, eight days before her first episode aired.In a video released by Jeopardy after Stowell's final episode, she said she had drawn "a line in the sand" against her disease."I'm dying of cancer," she said.
