Atmos Settles Lawsuit With Family of 12-year-old Dallas Girl Killed in 2018 Gas Explosion

Atmos Energy has settled a lawsuit with the family of a 12-year-old girl who was killed last year in a natural-gas explosion at a northwest Dallas home.The settlement's details were not released, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reported.Linda "Michellita" Rogers was preparing for a cheerleading competition early on the morning of Feb. 23, 2018, recording videos of herself as she fixed her hair while the rest of her family slept. In a time-lapse she made as she got ready, yellow sparks filled the frame at the moment of the explosion.Michellita's parents, Maria Rogers and Jose Fiscal, found their daughter under dresser drawers and carried her outside to a firefighter, telling her to "fight like a warrior."The sixth-grader at Uplift Williams Preparatory was pronounced dead just after 7:30 a.m. at Children's Medical Center Dallas.
