At the Top of Their Class Together, Two Dallas ISD Grads Share Valedictorian Honor

It isn’t always lonely at the top, after all.For the first time in at least 20 years, two students at a Dallas ISD high school are sharing valedictorian honors.Tri Truong and Fatima Roque graduated Friday from the Townview Center School of Health Professions — both at the head of their class.Tri and Fatima, both 17, finished high school with the same grade point average, resulting in a tied ranking in their class of 141 students that couldn't be broken, principal LaSandra Sanders said.Rather than feeling frustrated about having to share the title, Fatima was pleasantly surprised when she found out."I never imagined I'd be a dual valedictorian," Fatima said. "That was a huge surprise, and I felt excited because we are good friends. I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else."  Continue reading...
