At Least 3 Wounded in Separate Incidents Across Southern Part of Dallas Overnight

At least three people were wounded overnight in separate incidents across the southern part of Dallas. Officers were dispatched to three reports of shootings between 2 and 6 a.m. Saturday, though in one case they found that the victim had not been injured from gunfire. Police are investigating each of the incidents. About 2:40 a.m. in southeast Dallas: A witness told officers that the victim arrived in the 7200 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, near C.F. Hawn Freeway, with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim said that while he'd been walking, a vehicle approached him and a person he didn't know opened fire, Dallas police spokesman Carlos Almeida said. The victim then fled on foot. Dallas Fire-Rescue later transported him to a hospital. His condition is not known. About 5:10 a.m. in southeast Oak Cliff: When officers arrived in the 400 block of East Ledbetter Drive, near Interstate 35E, they found someone on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Almeida said. No additional information is currently available. About 5:20 a.m. in South Dallas: Officers spoke to a victim in the 1600 block of Metropolitan Avenue, near Julius Schepps Freeway and Pine Street. The victim said no one had been shot, but they did have other injuries that were treated at the scene, Almeida said.
