A swim coach has been indicted in connection with the drowning of a 13-year-old girl last year during swim club practice at the Carroll ISD Aquatics Center in Southlake.Elise Cerami died hours after she was pulled from the water on June 20 after one of her North Texas Nadadores swim club teammates spotted her. Elise's death was ruled an accidental drowning by the Tarrant County medical examiner. Tracey Anne Boyd, 49, was indicted June 29 on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child - criminal negligence, according to court records. The indictment alleged Boyd failed to "watch or observe Elise Cerami while [Cerami] was swimming" and failed to ensure that she was being supervised by someone else, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.She faces between 180 days and two years in state jail, probation and possible fines."The charge against Tracey Boyd describes her conduct and we believe that the district attorney will devote the full resources of their office to the case against Boyd," the Cerami family said in a written statement to WFAA-TV (Channel 8).
