Arlington Is One of the Hottest U.S. Markets for Buyers Hunting a Home

A North Texas community has made into to a list the country's hottest housing markets.Realtor.com ranked Arlington eighth among the 10 top U.S. markets where buyers are shopping for housing.It was the only Texas city to make the list.All of Realtor.com's hot housing markets for June were small and mid-sized markets where prices haven't gotten out of hand as in larger cities."Suburban metros are in demand," Realtor.com chief economist said in the report. "These zip codes have several things in common."They are close to city centers. They have huge numbers of millennials buying homes. And are relatively affordability, which makes them attractive to entry level buyers," Hale said.More than a third of recent buyers in Arlington were millennials, Realtor.com estimates.The median list price for homes on the market in Arlington in June was $215,050 - up 7.5 percent from a year earlier.Through the first six months of 2019, home sales in Arlington were up about 6% from the same period last year, according to data from local real estate agents.The top home markets on Realtor.com in June were Grand Rapids, Mich.; Omaha, and Shawnee, Kan.  Continue reading...
