Area Evacuated as Coppell, Irving Police Investigate Mysterious Package

The immediate area around the Coppell Police Department was evacuated Monday while authorities investigated a mysterious package that alarmed a resident.The package, which eventually was ruled harmless, had been delivered to a residence and appeared to come from outside the U.S., police said.The Irving Police Department's bomb squad assisted in dealing with the package, which had no suspicious contents, police said.Authorities diverted traffic around the area while the package was examined, police said.The incident comes on the heels of a series of package explosions in Austin in which a teenager was killed and a woman was injured.  Continue reading...
