Anonymous Donor Answers Family's Prayers After They Lost Home in Scam

The call Friday morning was urgent. You need to come home, Jose Palma's wife told him. Now. Palma left the house he was painting and jumped in his car. An awful feeling churned in his chest as he drove. After months of sleepless nights, maybe the day they'd been dreading was here. They were about to be kicked out of the home they'd bought and renovated only to find out it was a scam and they never legally owned it. Pulling into his driveway on Pine Street in southern Dallas, Palma saw his family's attorney, Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson, and his family's advocate, Lisette Caraballo, standing on his porch with his wife and kids.
