Angela Paxton, Wife of Indicted Texas AG, Mulling Texas Senate Run for Collin County Seat

AUSTIN -- Angela Paxton, the wife of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, is considering a run for the state Senate."She believes someone from the actual district, who has roots in the community, who's been serving in the community, should represent them in the Senate," said Jordan Berry, a consultant and friend of the Paxton family. News of Angela Paxton's consideration of the race comes days after Plano Republican Rep. Matt Shaheen announced he would not run for the seat that will be vacated by Sen. Van Taylor. The outgoing senator is running for U.S. Congress to replace Rep. Sam Johnson, who is retiring at the end of his current term."She would be great," said Shaheen of Angela Paxton, who is a guidance counselor at a private Christian school in Frisco.
