Activist Who Camped Outside Tornillo Tent City Warns of Immigrant Children’s Upcoming Legal Battles

Joshua Rubin of Brooklyn, N.Y., watched for almost three months as buses full of detained immigrant children arrived and left the temporary detention facility in Tornillo at the U.S.-Mexico border. Their silhouettes sometimes waved at him. He would wave back.He watched as trucks would carry in clean water for the tent city’s young occupants and haul out “gray” water.
