Activist Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez Joins Crowded Democratic Race for Senate Seat Held by Republican John Cornyn

Activist Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez is running for the Senate seat held by Republican John Cornyn, joining a crowded Democratic Party field that has yet to gain traction with primary voters."I don't think John Cornyn represents the Texas of today," Tzintzún Ramirez told The Dallas Morning News, adding that Cornyn should be embarrassed by the high number of uninsured or underinsured Texans, as well as folks dealing with poverty, voter suppression and other issues. She blasted Cornyn for being in lockstep with President Donald Trump, accusing the longtime elected leader of failing to stand up for Texans and not embodying the character of the diverse state."Texas should be in the forefront on all these major issues that face us," she said.
