A Year Later, Many North Texans Still Rebuilding From Deadly Tornadoes That Caught Them ‘off-guard'

The unseasonably warm and wet Christmas 2016 weather forecast has a foreboding and all-too-familiar ring to it for North Texans.A year ago, on Dec. 26, Spring-like temperature ushered 12 tornadoes into the area, including the strongest and first deadly December tornado on record to hit Dallas County."A lot of people were caught off-guard, thinking you don't get this stuff in December," said meteorologist Dennis Cain of the National Weather Service, who noted that there is a chance of less severe thunderstorms in Sunday's forecast.
