7-year-old Girl Injured as Two Vehicles Exchange Gunfire in South Dallas

A 7-year-old girl was injured after a gunfight broke out between two vehicles during a road-rage incident Friday night in South Dallas.One driver was arrested and the other will go before a grand jury after the incident that happened around 8:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of Julius Schepps Freeway, police said.Jaceob Soto, 27, told police he was involved in a road-rage incident while he was driving his white Chevrolet Tahoe. According to police, he pulled out a gun and fired at the other vehicle, a silver Mustang.The other driver, who has not been identified, returned fire and struck the 7-year-old who was riding in the Tahoe, police said. The girl was taken to Children's Medical Center Dallas with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.The driver of the Mustang told police he fired back because he feared for his life.There was no information about what caused the shooting to start.Soto is in Dallas County Jail and faces a charge of aggravated assault discharging a firearm. A grand jury will decide if the other driver faces a charge of injury to a child, police said.  Continue reading...
