A 61-year-old Lake Dallas man died Monday in Denton County after he tried to beat a train in his pickup.A Denton County Transportation Authority Train struck the truck in Hickory Creek near Lewisville Lake, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported.The crossing arms at the track at Hickory Hills Boulevard, near Interstate 35E, were down when the victim — identified as Brian Callahan by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office — drove across the tracks, the station reported.The train was traveling around 60 mph at the time of the crash.
