Broadway diva Betty Buckley grew up in Fort Worth and still lives on a horse ranch west of town. On the other end of the D-FW area, she's appearing in the title role of the national touring production of Hello, Dolly! at the Music Hall at Fair Park, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals July 17-28.In the classic farce, Dolly Gallagher Levi is hired as matchmaker for a "half-a-millionaire" she actually intends to snatch for herself.Buckley, who just turned 72, has been grabbing major roles for half a century. She starred as Grizabella in the original Broadway production of Cats, for which she won the Tony, and played Carrie's gym teacher in the Stephen King horror flick and later her fanatical mother in the stage musical version.  Continue reading...
