Texas' rich got richer in the last year.In Forbes' 2017 ranking of richest Americans, 34 Texans claimed spots among the wealthiest in the U.S. That includes 18 from Dallas-Fort Worth, 11 from the Houston area, 4 from Austin and one from temple.Wal-Mart heiress Alice Walton, 68, of Fort Worth remains the richest Texan with a net worth of $38.2 billion. Her fortune grew by $2.8 billion, placing her 13th nationally.Microsoft founder Bill Gates topped the ranking for the 24th year, with a net worth of $89 billion. Rounding out the top five were Amazon's Jeff Bezos ($81.5 billion), Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett ($78 billion), Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg ($71 billion) and Oracle's Larry Ellison ($59 billion).The magazine elected to put President Donald Trump on its cover. The real estate magnet-turned-politician saw his net worth drop $600 million, tumbling him to No. 248 on the list at $3.1 billion.
