3-year-old North Texas Girl Dies After Being Left Unattended in Bathtub

A 3-year-old North Texas girl died Tuesday, several days after she was found underwater when she was left alone in a bathtub at her Decatur home.Eve Blankenfeld's mother left her unattended "for just a few minutes" to fold laundry Friday, police told KTVT-TV (Channel 11).First responders performed CPR on the girl, who was taken to a Decatur hospital, the station reported. She was later transferred to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, where she was pronounced dead just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.The Tarrant County medical examiner's office has not yet ruled on her cause of death.Police and paramedics were called and immediately began CPR on Blankenfeld. She was then transported to Wise Regional Medical Center in Decatur and then to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth where she later died.Decatur police Lt.
