3 Charged With Robbery After Victim Shot 15-year-old Companion in Anna, Police Say

An 18-year-old accused of opening fire on an occupied van and fatally shooting 15-year-old Alejandro Camacho of McKinney had been set up for robbery during a marijuana transaction, Anna police said Tuesday.Christopher Lamarr Sterkes had already been charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and remained jailed in Collin County with bail set at $1.1 million.Police arrested three more suspects Tuesday morning, charging each of them with robbery after investigators determined that they had worked with Camacho to offer to sell Sterkes less than one ounce of marijuana, then rob him.Maria Garcia, 18, Marcos Hernandez, 17, and a juvenile who is not being named due to his age were each charged with one count of robbery.Police say they met Sterkes in Garcia's van Friday, then robbed him and forced him out of the vehicle near Wiley Farm Road and Creekview Drive, east of U.S. Highway 75.Sterkes opened fire on the van as Garcia drove away, police said, hitting Camacho. Camacho was left in the parking lot of Medical City McKinney and died of his wounds.Garcia and Hernandez remained in the Collin County jail Tuesday evening with bail set at $50,000 each.
