29-year-old Man Shot to Death Trying to Stop Truck Burglary in Garland

A man was fatally shot trying to stop someone from breaking into his work truck Wednesday night, Garland police said.Police officers discovered 29-year-old Clifford Wayne Wicker Jr. around 11:45 p.m. in an apartment complex parking lot in the 2800 block of Dairy Road.He was shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said.According to Garland police Lt. Pedro Barineau, police believe the victim was in his apartment when he realized someone was breaking into his work truck. When he investigated, he was shot.No information was available on possible suspects, but police said it's possible other cars in the area might have been burglarized.
