2017 in Video: What We Saw in Dallas-Fort Worth

In North Texas, devastating weather, a new White House administration and heart-wrenching crimes dominated the headlines for much of the year. We came to know the names of Jerry Walker, the Little Elm police detective killed in January in the line of duty; Jordan Edwards, the 15-year-old killed by a Balch Springs officer while leaving a party in April and Sherin Mathews, the 3-year-old who was discovered dead in a Richardson drainage pipe two weeks after she was reported missing in October.Texas also mourned the lives of those killed in mass slayings, including eight people who were fatally shot at a Plano home during a Dallas Cowboys watch party and cookout. In the state's deadliest shooting, a gunman entered a church in Sutherland Springs in November, killing 26, including an unborn child.Fatal tornadoes tore through North Texas in the spring, and much of Houston continues to clean up from the destructive rain from Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall in South Texas in late August.  Continue reading...
