2-year-old Girl Dies 3 Days After Being Run Over by Drunken-driving Suspect

A toddler died this week a few days after she was struck by a drunken driving suspect in a suburb of Fort Worth.Two-year-old Alondra Mendez was crossing a street in Sansom Park on Sunday when she was struck by a car, Police Chief Will Wilkerson told KXAS-TV (NBC5).Alondra was rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center. She died Tuesday morning, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.The suspect, a 40-year-old Sansom Park resident, was jailed on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.Police declined to name the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.  Continue reading...
