2 Homes Damaged in Southeast Dallas Grass Fire

Two homes were damaged Tuesday in a grass fire in southeast Dallas, fire officials say. Dallas Fire-Rescue was called about 5:40 p.m. to the fire, which spread to two neighboring homes in the 200 block of Forsythe Drive, near South Great Trinity Forest Way. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 30 minutes, but both homes sustained significant damage, spokesman Jason Evans said. A resident made it out of one of the homes safely. None of the three people thought to be living in the other home were there at the time, Evans said. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called out to help the residents. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire, which is thought to have started in the middle of the homes.   Continue reading...
