Two people were arrested in east Oak Cliff after leading authorities on a chase that left a Balch Springs officer injured Tuesday night, police said. Officers pursued the vehicle from Balch Springs about 9 p.m. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office and the Dallas Police Department assisted. About halfway through the chase, a Balch Springs officer driving a patrol vehicle was struck by a car in Dallas near the intersection of South Marsalis Avenue and East Ledbetter Drive. The officer was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects traveled north and bailed out of their vehicle in the 1300 block of Alaska Avenue, west of South Marsalis Avenue, Balch Springs police said. The two were arrested soon after.
