18-year-old Arrested in Connection With Oak Cliff Student Robberies

Dallas police have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of robberies against students in Oak Cliff.Christoper Wade, 18, faces robbery charges and is in Dallas County Jail on a total bond of $15,000 on three counts. He was booked into jail just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.The robberies have taken place at four Dallas school district campuses -- Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, Justin F. Kimball High School, L.V. Stockard Middle School and Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Middle School -- from Feb. 15 to Feb. 25. The robbers approached students near the schools in the late afternoon or early evening and demanded their cellphones and other belongings.In a separate incident that might be related, a woman was threatened at gunpoint and forced to give up her cellphone Monday night in Cockrell Hill.At least one other person is being interviewed by police in connection to the robberies, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reported.  Continue reading...
