17-year-old Dies After Losing Control of Motorcycle, Crashing Into Mailbox, Arlington Police Say

A 17-year-old died several hours after he lost control of a motorcycle and crashed into a mailbox near his house in Arlington Thursday night, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Armando Chavez. The teen was traveling southbound in the 1800 block of Billy B Avenue, near State Highway 360 and East Park Row Drive, about 6:45 p.m. when the crash occurred, police said. His home is a couple of blocks away in the 1600 block of Debra Drive, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. He was transported to a hospital, where he died just before 8:55 p.m. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, but police said speed is potentially a factor.  Continue reading...
