16-year-old Dies in Crash After Police Chase, Officials Say

A 16-year-old died in a crash Saturday after he led police on a chase in Fort Worth, officials say.Fort Worth police said officers with the Special Response Team were trying to catch up with a driver in a stolen vehicle at about 6:40 p.m. in the 4000 block of Hemphill Street.The driver then hit a light pole at the intersection with Bolt Street.The driver, identified in the Tarrant County medical examiner's records as De'Morrian Candler-Smith, was taken to a hospital after the crash, police said.
