15-year-old Shot in the Head in Garland, Teen Arrested

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of shooting a 15-year-old boy in the head Tuesday in Garland, police said. Officers responded about 7 p.m. to the 3700 block of Burning Tree Lane where the teen was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Detectives learned that the victim, 17-year-old Andy Erives and a 15-year-old witness were hanging out at the home with a gun when Erives pointed the gun at the victim and shot him, police said. He fled, but was found nearby in the 3600 block of O'Henry Drive, police said. Erives is being held in the Garland Detention Center.
