A 15-year-old boy taking his mother's car for a joyride fled from police and wound up crashing into a concrete pillar Thursday morning in Haltom City.The boy was was taken to an area hospital for evaluation after he was taken into custody, police said. The chase began around 1:45 a.m. off northbound State Highway 121 when the driver refused to stop for a traffic violation and led police on a 30-minute pursuit. It ended in a crash after the juvenile took the Minnis Road exit off Highway 121, police said. The pillar was not seriously damaged, police said. Fort Worth police provided assistance.
