14-year-old Convicted of Murder for Stabbing Best Friend in Fort Worth Fight

A Tarrant County jury found a 14-year-old girl guilty of murdering her best friend in May 2018.The girl, who is not being identified because of her age, stabbed 14-year-old Nylah Lightfoot in the neck and chest outside her unit in the Sycamore Center Villas apartment complex in south Fort Worth.Lightfoot, a student at Wedgwood Middle School, died of her wounds at John Peter Smith Hospital.Her killer could face anything from probation to 40 years in prison, and could be transferred to adult prison when she turns 19.She testified that Lightfoot "was like a sister," but that the two had been fighting when she grabbed a knife, pushed another friend aside, and began stabbing Lightfoot, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.  Continue reading...
