10-year-old Led Texas Officers on Chase After Stealing Dad's Pickup, Police Say

A 10-year-old boy led South Texas officers on a chase for several miles in his dad's pickup, police say.An officer in Converse, about 15 miles northeast of San Antonio, saw a black Toyota Tundra driving erratically in a residential area about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday and tried to stop the vehicle, which crashed into a parked car, police said.The pickup stopped after a few blocks, police said, but then backed into the officer's SUV and took off again when the officer got out of the vehicle.The pursuit continued west onto a major road, and Bexar County deputies laid out spike strips near a fire station. The pickup swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid the spikes, then drove off the road and came to a stop after hitting a tree, police said.  Continue reading...
