1 Person Injured, Several Apartments Damaged in Far Northeast Dallas Fire

At least one person was injured and a dozen units were damaged after a fire at a Far Northeast Dallas apartment complex early Monday.About 3:30 a.m., Dallas-Fire Rescue was called to the Park Ninety Six 90 apartments in the 9600 block of Forest Lane.Firefighters found flames coming out of a two-story apartment. Investigators believe the fire began downstairs and spread to the second floor.A man was taken to a hospital with second-degree burns. He was expected to survive.Eight units had damage from the fire and four had water and smoke damage, fire officials said.The flames were out by 6 a.m., but fire crews were checking for hot spots, our partners at KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.Dallas Fire-Rescue's arson investigators were looking into the cause of the fire.  Continue reading...
