1 Arrested After Foot Chase for Active Shooter in Far East Dallas, Police Say

One person was arrested after an active shooter call overnight in Far East Dallas, police said. Officers were working another call about 11:45 p.m. Monday when shots were fired nearby. They called for backup about a shooter on foot. They initially captured two people about 1 a.m. Tuesday, but one of them was released after they determined he was not involved. The suspect was taken into custody about 1 a.m. in the 2700 block of John West Road, near La Prada Drive and Interstate 30, police said.
