Devs Want to Turn Elm Place into Luxury Apts

Plans are in the works to restore one of Dallas' oldest skyscrapers.

Dallas-based Rees Architecture wants to buy and transform the 52-story Elm Place Tower into 600 luxury apartments, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News.

The design firm is working with an investment group to renovate the former office space into livable space, including solar panels and wind generators on the roof that will cut energy consumption to 50 percent of what it once was.

The building's owners closed the building earlier this year due to low occupancy.
