POLICE RAID ARLINGTON STRIP CLUB ON DRUG WARRANTS
Police carrying arrest warrants for three suspected drug dealers raided Chicas Locas, a west Arlington strip club, Thursday night, shutting down the club as they worked to identify more than 60 customers and employees, police said. (Star-Telegram)

ARSONIST STARTS AT LEAST 12 FIRES IN OAK CLIFF

Police said an arsonist has started at least 12 small fires in Oak Cliff this week. The fires are usually started in trashcans, but have spread to several fences. One fire burned a garage, damaging a car. (NBC DFW)

LAWSUIT AGAINST CHILDREN'S PARTY PLANNER DROPPED
A civil lawsuit against the owner of a miniature train attraction accused of sexual assault have been dropped. Don Simpson, the owner of Mr. Don's Whistle Stop, still faces criminal sexual assault charges. (NBC DFW)

I-20 SHUTDOWN: IT'S A CELL PHONE, NOT A GUN
Eastbound traffic on Interstate 20 was shut down for a short time Thursday morning by what turned out to be a misunderstanding.  The report was that a man had a gun to his head at mile marker 420, but it turned out  the stranded driver was holding a cell phone to his ear. (Star-Telegram)

DESOTO MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED
A 19-year-old man accused of killing a mother of five has been arrested. DeSoto police arrested Nelson Davis overnight. He's accused of killing Melissa Evans in front of her children. She was found dead in her DeSoto apartment on Wednesday.

TARRANT GRAND JURY INDICTS 22 IN GAMBLING CASE
Twenty-two people were indicted this week in Tarrant County in connection with Aces Wired gaming centers, which authorities allege were illegal gambling operations. Aces Wired has been in an ongoing legal battle with state authorities since the state raided the company's gaming rooms across Texas May 21, including three in Fort Worth. (Star-Telegram)

MAN WHO WIELDED BAT AT DALLAS ANIMAL SHELTER SAYS HE ONLY WANTED HIS CAT BACK
A 59-year-old man who took his cat from the Dallas Animal Shelter while wielding a bat said today he only wanted to retrieve his beloved pet and never intended to harm anyone. (Dallas Morning News)

SCARECROW BANDITS CHARGED WITH NINE MORE BANK HEISTS
A federal grand jury has charged the seven members of the Scarecrow Bandits, North Texas’ notorious bank robber gang, with nine additional heists, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Dallas announced today. (Dallas Morning News)

JUDGE-PROSECUTOR AFFAIR ADMISSION MAY HAVE COME TOO LATE
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has sent the capital murder case of death row inmate Charles Dean Hood back to a district court yet again on a procedural issue. (Dallas Morning News)

POLICE SAY CARROLLTON MOM SHOT HER SON, TURNED GUN ON HERSELF
Police believe a Carrollton woman shot her 20-year-old son then turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide.  (Dallas Morning News)

AUTHORITIES IDENTIFY MAN FOUND DEAD ON INTERSTATE 30 IN FORT WORTH
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office today identified Jimmy Whitworth as the man who was found on the center median of Interstate 30 on Tuesday morning in Fort Worth. (Dallas Morning News)

PLANO: GRAND JURY CLEARS OFFICER
The Plano police patrol sergeant who fatally shot a man in October was cleared by a Collin County grand jury of any potential charges. The 22-year veteran was placed on administrative leave with pay, which is consistent with departmental procedure to conduct an investigation of the shooting. Rick McDonald, Plano police spokesman, said the sergeant was cleared by the internal investigation and is back on duty working patrol. (Plano Star-Courier)
