BURGLARY SUSPECT MAY ALSO BE ARSONIST
Plano police said the arrest of a burglary suspect may also solve two arson investigations in the city as well as other crimes across North Texas. A 21-year-old Dallas man is now in jail and charged with burglarizing a home on the 4200 block of Emerson Drive Sunday night. Police said the man set fires inside the home to cover up the theft. Officers said another house was set on fire following a burglary earlier in the month.

MAN ACCUSED OF 'ACCIDENTALLY' SHOOTING, KILLING GIRLFRIEND

The shooting happened Thursday at about 3 a.m. in the 2900 block of Ruidosa Avenue in northeast Dallas. A witness told police that Chase Barton, 22, was trying to show his girlfriend how to fire a handgun when he struck her in the upper torso. (NBC DFW)

POLICE WARN RESIDENTS, AGAIN, OF LEAVING GARAGE OPEN
In the past week, thieves have hit six houses that left their garage doors open in a northwest Denton neighborhood near North Lakes Park. Leaving a garage door open, even during the day while you are at home, is equivalent to "leaving the keys in the ignition," Officer Jim Bryan of the Denton Police Department said. (NBC DFW)

THIEVES STEAL JESUS FROM NRH MANGER SCENE
A family in North Richland Hills has surveillance video showing two Christmas Grinches stealing their yard decorations.  David and Gloria Herrera said the thefts are common and have happened every year since 1996 -- prompting the Herrera's to install the security camera. On Monday, the camera caught the pair grabbing several ornamental pieces -- including the baby Jesus from their manger scene.  The pair, who are undoubtedly now on Santa's bad list, fled in their light-colored, two-door sedan. NRH police are now investigating.
