Out to Sea: Coast Global Seafood is Closing

Economy blamed for doors closing

We first checked out Coast Global Seafood in Plano when it opened (see our report here). But even then, one problem was readily apparent -- the location wasn’t that great.

Coast’s design was elegant, chic, and the food was fantastic. But any restaurant that’s hard to find it going to have a difficult time.

Add in the fact Executive Chef Josh Perkins jumped ship many months ago, and you have a closure recipe.

Owner Richard Gussoni sent this letter to announce the closure:

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

As of Monday, December 20, 2010, COAST restaurant located at 75201 Lone
Star Drive in Plano will cease operations. This decision comes as a result of the
struggling economy and anticipated demand sources that did not materialize.

Since its opening in November 2008, COAST has enjoyed praise from customers
and critics alike. We are very appreciative of all of the patrons and staff who have
supported the concept over the past two years.

At this time, no further plans have been announced for the space.

Sincerely,
Richard N. Gussoni
Proprietor
