Christmas in June in Dallas

Christmas decorations prep for stores

The temperatures may reach above 100 degrees in Dallas but inside the Dallas Market Center it's a winter wonderland.

Robin Wells, Executive VP of the Dallas Market Center says more than 40,000 vendors and buyers have filled the hall looking for the latest and greatest decorations, many vendors showcasing the best Christmas styles to buyers from around the world.

Carol Rector, a buyer from Edna Campbell's boutique in Missouri, came to the Dallas Market Center to shop with her boss, but says it doesn't feel like work when she's shopping for Christmas items.

"I do a lot of decorating for our store so it's really fun to pick the stuff that you are going to be working with," said Rector.

Design expert Jim Marvin says hippy looks and vivid colors will be popular this year.  He also says the traditional red and green, along with metallic colors are popular among his buyers.

Some of the newest and coolest Christmas decorations showcased includes a snowing tree and a carousel of elves.

"Get ready get in the mood the economy has been a little soft the last few years in general, but Christmas is a happy time, I mean whose not in the mood to buy for Christmas," said Wells.
