Carrie Underwood. Forbes magazine looked at former "American Idol" contestants in terms of album sales, concerts, merchandising and other income.
Underwood is worth an estimated $14 million.

Second on the list is Jennifer Hudson, with $5 million.
She inches out original "Idol" Kelly Clarkson, who earned $4.2 million, but Clarkson still has the most album sales of any "Idol" alumnus.
