Concert tickets may never have been hotter in North Texas.

Shows scheduled for the new Cowboys stadium are fast sellouts. George Strait sold out the new stadium in one hour, and U2 is close to the venue's capacity.

"It’s pretty crazy," said Scott Baima, the owner of Texas Tickets. "The first three levels sold out in the first 10 minutes."

Baima said everyone wants to see a popular band in a new venue.

"It makes it even more exciting," he said.

Tickets for the Oct. 12 U2 show went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. By 5 p.m., more than 50,000 had sold.

Just as quickly though, hundreds of those tickets found their way back on the market.

"Just the sheer size and the number of them out there is mind-boggling," ticket broker Robert Schnyer said.

NBCDFW found thousands of tickets listed above face value on Web sites such as eBay, Craigslist and professional sites where brokers flip tickets.

"I think people will always speculate on the big shows and hope they can turn them real fast," Baima said.

But with his price markup, comes protection, Baima said.

"Craigslist and eBay are really gambles," he said. "You need to know where you get them in case there’s a problem, so you can get your money back."

The U2 show can accommodate just less than 60,000 people. As of late Monday night, there were still some seats available -- at face value -- through the Ticketmaster Web site.
