Brahmas Win Shootout

Brahmas beat Mudbugs 2-1

It was a nail biter Wednesday night as the Brahmas beat the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs 2-1 in a shootout.

There was no scoring in the first and second period, but things finally opened up for the Brahmas at the 17:24 mark in the third, as forward Jason Deitsch beat Ken Carroll for his tenth point of the season.

'Bugs forward Brett Smith ruined all hopes for a shutout when he scored a powerplay goal with five minutes remaining in the game.

The game was forced to a shootout, the first for the Brahmas for the season.

The shootout went five players deep for each side, but it was a Pete Rouleau shot that gave Texas the 2-1 victory and the five game home winning streak.

Texas will wrap up the mini home stand this Friday against the Oklahoma City Blazers for a 7:05 PM faceoff.

All military personnel, active and retired will receive half priced tickets at the Brahmas Box Office for the conclusion of "NYTEX Honors Military Night".
