A drug manufacturer is warning patients to be wary of cheap asthma medication after the theft of a truck full of pharmaceuticals in McKinney.
Dey L.P. Pharmaceutical company urged North Texans who use the drug Albuterol Sulfatepatients to only use vials of the medication purchased directly from a pharmacy.
Police eventually located the stolen truck in Royse City, but the drugs were not recovered.
Albuterol Sulfate is used primarily to treat asthma but also is effective in treating other respiratory illnesses like flu or pneumonia.
The medicine must stored at the proper temperature because it can become less effective if it exposed to extreme heat or light.
