Rock star, tireless tweeter and inveterate party animal Andrew W.K. is leaving his beloved New York next week for a trip to Austin's South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. The Santos Party House curator won't just check out the event's mind-boggling array of concerts, showcases and panels. He'll bring the Santos vibe to Texas for the "Death Match" day party thrown by the downtown NYC club and Thrasher magazine at The Scoot Inn on Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m.
Performers at the party include Das Racist, Odd Future (NSFW) and Fang Island (the latter two of which made Andrew's must-see list). His other picks span world-renowned groupie Pamela Des Barres, Dutch master of pounding techno Afrojack, and the comeback of Austin's own resurgent art rock outfit ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead.
