Abi Ferrin's Fetes the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl doesn't officially happen for another three weeks, but the parties are already in full swing. Thursday night we stopped by designer Abi Ferrin's bash at the Azure to welcome her Super Bowl suitors, the NFL Player's Wives Association.

Ferrin was chosen by the do-gooding group, whose official name is "Off The Field," as their partner for a series of soirees leading up to the Big Game; all proceeds from the pre-parties and the major February 4th event, the 2011 Off The Field Super Bowl Brunch and Fashion Show, will benefit of the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

The laid-back runway show featured gorgeous members of the Association in Ferrin's current collection, including several never-before-seen dresses that we're recently added to the Spring line-up. Our favorite was a vibrant, hand-painted silk gown with a relaxed, ruched shape that kept the strapless frock from getting too serious.

Ferrin, who emceed the show along with co-hosts Regina Bruce and Trisha Ewert, shared some exclusive news with us after the presentation - she'll be delivering her first shipment to Nordstrom as of Friday, January 14th. If it comes as a surprise that Ferrin has recently been picked up by the major retail chain, you're not alone. The Dallas-based label has kept the news of her Nordstrom launch somewhat low-key, but that'll all change when they debut her collection at the Northpark store on February 3rd.

"They're starting me here at Northpark, and I'm so very thankful! It makes me happy that my loyal, local following gets to see the pieces first," Ferrin gushed of seeing her label on department store racks for the first time.

As we chatted with the designer, we noticed more than a few bold-face names mingling in the crowd, TV personality Hilary Kennedy was spotted, but the most notable attendee was Tim Brown, the former Heisman winner and soon-to-be Hall of Fame Inductee. His stunning wife, Sherice, modeled several of Ferrin's looks during the show. Of whether or not she got to weigh in on her runway wardrobe choices, Sherice said "No! These were actually already picked out for us, but I've loved them all."

We can't wait to see more from Ferrin and Off The Field as the Super Bowl approaches, because even though the Cowboys didn't make the cut, Dallasites seem to be turning out en masse to support the numerous events anyway. And they're doing their part to make sure we're the most well-dressed city to ever host the gridirons greatest game. Go team!
