9/4-9/5: Yoga Soul

Kick-off your three day weekend with free yoga and a soulful superfest

THE POWER OF OHM: Usually you have to pay to attend specialty fitness classes aimed to help you relax – not today! Meditate your mind and release your Chakra this Saturday at the 4th Annual DFW Free Day of Yoga from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The stretching begins at the Crow Collection of Asian Art  presented in partnership with Luke’s Locker, from there let the yoga power be with you all throughout the Metroplex because the events keep on coming. Click here for all locations. And, the day isn’t only for grown-ups; even the little tikes can take part in family fun yoga sessions.  Yoga day welcomes newbies and pros for complimentary tea and treats in between sessions back at Crow Collection.

A TABLOID FAVORITE WHO ALSO SINGS: Ok, when we’re not reading about all of John Mayer’s dating drama and hoopla, we realize – wait a minute, this guy is actually talented! The 32-year-old Grammy-winning “bad boy” burst onto the music scene in 2002 with radio hits like the popular “Your Body Is a Wonderland” (the song that won him his first Grammy) and “Why Georgia.” Mayer is on tour with his fourth studio album “Battle Studies,” that he openly admitted to Rolling Stone wasn’t his best work, yet, he still proudly promotes the songs on the album, since he is obviously on tour for it. Be your own critic tonight at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

PEACE, LOVE, AND SOUL: Budweiser knows how to do a three-day weekend right with a bit of beer and song. This Sunday night, the Budweiser Superfest 2010 Tour rolls into Dallas with the musical stylings of Anthony Hamilton, KEM, Jaheim, Raheem DeVaughn, and Hal Linton. Each year the Superfest rounds up a talented group of up-and-comers for one big tour. The theme in this bunch is soul. From the headlining smoothness of Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Anthony Hamilton with his emotional lyrics to the rhythm and blues sounds of KEM, this all male line-up will be making the ladies swoon at the Superpages.com Center Sunday night at 7 p.m.
